Walter R. Scarborough

First, I must confess that I do not have a theological degree (although I wish I did), nor am I a pastor or a theology professor. I am an architect with more than 45 years of experience in the technical aspects required to build buildings. I have produced construction drawings, I have worked with contractors during the construction of buildings, and I have written specifications for hundreds of projects, from very small to very large.

I am a committed believer and have served as a teacher, deacon and elder in our church. I have been interested in prophecy and end times my entire adult life. Early on I tried to study the topic but was continually frustrated because I did not feel like I was really learning enough nor was I progressing at the pace I wanted. I needed something to drive me to learn the Biblical revelation more in-depth and at a faster pace. As an architect, my professional work has always been project based, so I decided to treat the study of prophecy and end times as a project where component would be built on component that would end in something tangible. After that, I began learning at a faster pace.

During the 1990’s I was part of a very small men’s fellowship that met every other Saturday morning. In mid-1998, I asked the other attendees if I could teach about prophecy and end times and they graciously accepted the idea, so I started studying and writing in earnest. In October of that year, I started teaching and much to everyone’s surprise, the study lasted for over six years. By the end of the study, I had written about 850 pages of narratives that I used as handouts. Looking back, I realized I had essentially written a first draft of a book. In September of 2016 I decided to build a book from those handouts. It turned into two volumes.

Why did I write this book? I have always believed that if a person really wanted to know in depth about a subject such as prophecy and end times, then he or she had to write a book about that subject. Hence, the book in your hands is the conclusion of my study of prophecy and end times. I also wanted to do something for the Lord, and I wanted to make what I had learned available to others who were searching.
